How to Play Crossclimb

The goal: arrange the scrambled rungs into a word ladder where every adjacent pair of words differs by exactly one letter. The link between two rungs turns green when they're one letter apart — solve when every link is green.

Crossclimb Strategy

Word ladders reward looking at letters, not meanings.

1. Find the "almost twins"

Scan for two words that differ by a single letter — they must sit next to each other. Lock those pairs first.

2. Build from the ends

A word that shares fewer letters with the rest is usually an end rung. Anchor it and work inward.

3. Change one thing at a time

Read down the ladder and check exactly one letter changes each step — if two change, a rung is out of place.

4. Try the reverse

A ladder reads the same upside down, so if it almost works, flipping a section often completes it.
