Play Pinpoint Unlimited
The LinkedIn-style category game, free in your browser. Five clues reveal one at a time — name the hidden category in as few as you can. Daily puzzle plus endless practice.
How to Play Pinpoint
The goal: figure out the hidden category that links five items — but you only see them one at a time. Guess as early as you can; the fewer clues you need, the higher your score.
Read clue one
A single item from the category appears.
Name the category
Type what connects the items.
More clues
Each wrong guess reveals the next clue, up to five.
Score by speed
Solve in one clue for 5/5, down to 1/5 at clue five.
Phrasing is forgiving — "pasta," "types of pasta," and "pasta shapes" all count. Stuck? Hit Give up to reveal the answer and all five items.
Pinpoint Strategy: Guess It in Fewer Clues
Top Pinpoint players think in patterns. These tactics shave clues off your solve.
1. Hold your guess for clue two
One item usually fits many categories. A second clue narrows the field fast while still scoring 4/5 — often the best risk-reward.
2. Look for the wordplay category
Many categories aren't "types of X" but word patterns — items that all precede or follow a common word (paper, cut, feed → all take "back").
3. Find the odd one out
If four clues are fruit but one isn't, the category is probably broader than "fruit" — think about what ALL five share.
4. Go general, then specific
The matcher accepts broad answers, so guess the simplest phrasing that fits rather than over-thinking the exact wording.
